Requirements for Virginia School of Pet Grooming in Manassas, VA

Requirements For Entrance

No experience is required, but applicants must be at least sixteen years of age (with a guardian’s approval) and have a genuine interest in becoming a groomer. Prospective students must display a sincere love of animals and take part in a personal interview to determine if their expectations of the grooming industry are realistic. The application, once signed and approved by both parties and this Handbook becomes a legal and binding contract.

Virginia school of pet grooming accepts students that are transferring from another grooming school and will accept their credit hours or time spent in a comparable course.

School Calendar

Beginning and ending times of the course offered are set at the time of enrollment and will be a part of the enrollment agreement. All scheduled classes run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Saturday. New starting students 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. All students are required to attend at least two a month or more if they so desire. Class hours may vary from student to student and on the assignments in which they are working on. In any case we want you to schedule yourself for those hours to be at school so there will not be any out side scheduling problems. Due to the nature of grooming break times and lunches may vary in time and moments that they are taken. There may also be times when a student will need extra time with the instructor to cover troublesome areas. If this happens we are pleased to set up after hours time for any student that needs extra help.

Attendance Policy

Our students are expected to attend all classes. Records are kept on file on attendance. The length of attendance is determined by the first day of the students attending class to the last day of attended class. Evaluation of performance will become a part of the student’s permanent file. Unexcused absence will not be tolerated. Up to four unexcused absenses by the student will result in the student being withdrawn from school. More than fourteen now show absences will result in the student being dropped from the course. All absences must be verified by some document to explain the absence. For unexcused absences please refer to enrolment agreement under section 1.04 - Attendance.
