Certified Course For Professional Groomers Program

Our objective is to offer a course for the groomer who has been working professionally for at least three years but has not been to a certified school. This course will allow the groomer to cover material in the areas of Anatomy, Diseases, Nutrition, etc. that he may not have been exposed to in a typical apprenticeship situation while also updating him in current grooming practices and techniques. We feel that the current push in the industry toward standardization and licensing will make this course a necessity for the thousands of groomer’s nation wide who have experience but no formal training.

Length of Program

Our class time for the Certified Course for Professional Groomers runs 175 Hours-5 weeks – Monday through Friday. This course can be tailored to meet individual needs, but time requirements must meet those approved by the State Council of Higher Education. The only difference in course structure is that the practical experience portion is reduced to only 50 hours, and will only require the student to completely groom 1 dog of each breed category to standard pet quality.
